No prophecy yet future is more observably in the stage-setting process at present than the Gog-Magog foretelling of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. And, it is a prophecy of utter doom for those who plan and initiate the attack against God’s chosen nation, Israel.
Here’s the bottom line for that coalition that storms southward, determined to destroy Israel and take great spoils of war from the oil-rich Middle East:
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD (Ezekiel 39:1-5).
Even to those who believe in and study Bible prophecy as destined to be literally fulfilled in most minute detail, it is astonishing to watch this prophecy shaping up in the headlines today.
Russia (Rosh) and Iran (Persia) are becoming closer by the hour in an alliance that portends trouble for Israel and the world. Other national entities and regions are also beginning to coalesce against God’s chosen people.
For example, Turkey and regions surrounding that country—representing the Gog-Magog coalition member Togarmah—are as of this writing sending threatening diplomatic protests Israel’s way for Israel’s military action into the Gaza because of the thousands of rocket attacks by Hamas.
This force from the north of Israel will be completely routed, and will have five-sixth of its armies completely destroyed. This is a prophecy of doom for a Russian leader the Bible calls “Gog” and all who follow him against God’s chosen nation. The rapidity with which this prophecy is setting up for fulfillment is phenomenal.
Global World Order
God’s Word predicts a time when all of the world will have but one government that controls. It will be ruled over by the worst tyrant of all time. This man is called many names in the Bible: the son of perdition, the prince that shall come, the Assyrian, the beast, the man of sin, the king of fierce countenance, and Antichrist.
His ultimate control over the world, through satanically indwelt power, is prophesied in the following verses: “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six” (Revelation 13:16-18).
There must be a coming together of nations to agree to one world government. The nations might still be separate in some sense in the ultimate arrangement, but they will all have to agree that global government—under one auspice—is the only way to govern the masses of the world.
In fact, this very global coming together of rulers of the earth is prophesied in God’s Word, with the Lord giving His opinion of the effort to return to the Babel-like time of Nimrod’s day (see Genesis 11): “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion” (Psalm 2:1-6).
God says that Jesus Christ will be established upon Zion (the reconfigured and lifted-up Mt. Moriah). His throne will overthrow all of these attempts by fallen man and their governors—like Lucifer—to try to usurp the very throne of God.
A prophecy that precisely puts God’s finger on our generation concerning those determined to put together a world empire—through world trading blocs such as the North American Union, along the lines of the European Union—is found in this Scripture, I believe: “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast” (Revelation 17:12-13).
This is another profound stage-setting for fulfillment in our time.
The recent economic earthquake has set all the globalist elitists on a course of bringing the world under one economic order. The American currency—the dollar—is under assault, with the intention of bringing down its power to control the other monetary institutions of the earth’s nations.
The things we see happening financially on a global scale, I’m convinced, will eventuate in all currencies melding into one. That one will be in the form of electronic funds drawing rights. Money will, eventually, be all electronic units, an electronic funds transfer system of buying and selling. This is, in my view, how the Antichrist will be able to control all buying and selling.
The Internet—the World Wide Web—in some hybrid form will be the vehicle through which all buying and selling is accomplished.
Words by Dr. Henry Kissinger, thrilling to most geopoliticians but chilling to those of us who know what God’s prophetic Word has to say about things to come, frame the globalist elite’s vision as of this writing.
Not since the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy half a century ago has a new administration come into office with such a reservoir of expectations. It is unprecedented that all the principal actors on the world stage are avowing their desire to undertake the transformations imposed on them by the world crisis in collaboration with the United States.
The extraordinary impact of the president-elect on the imagination of humanity is an important element in shaping a new world order…
An international order can be permanent only if its participants have a share not only in building but also in securing it. In this manner, America and its potential partners have a unique opportunity to transform a moment of crisis into a vision of hope.[i]
As optimistic as Dr. Kissinger’s words are, such a system is doomed, according to God’s Holy Word. And, the ultimate coming to fruition of a one-world order will absolutely come to pass. All who accept Antichrist’s system by agreeing to accept a coded number designation that includes Antichrist’s number of required worship—666—are doomed to eternity apart from God and heaven.

Seals, Trumpets, and Vials of Wrath
All who refuse to accept God’s grace gift and who live to go into the Tribulation dispensation are facing a time of unprecedented trouble for planet earth. Jesus himself said it would be the worst time of human history (Matthew 24:21-22).
There is coming the development of the Antichrist system as just described. Millions of people who accept Christ after the Rapture and Jews will be persecuted and will die under this monster’s genocidal command. That period and that government will make Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime look like good times by comparison. You don’t want to go through the time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), another name for the Tribulation or Daniel’s seventieth week—the last seven years of history leading up to Christ’s Second Advent.
But the worst is yet to come, even more horrendous than anything Antichrist can do. God’s wrathful judgment will pour out upon all rebellious earth-dwellers, beginning at the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation.
To understand the things that will judge the rebels who refuse God’s offer of redemption, read the book of Revelation—particularly chapters 6 through 19. There you will read of twenty-one specific judgments in a series of seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven vials of God’s wrath. As many as two-thirds of all peoples on earth will die by the plagues of these judgments.
Judgment of Wickedness, the False System of Worship, and the Coming of Armageddon
God’s judgment and wrath will fall upon the evil people and system of wicked commercialism. A mighty city called Babylon representing all of this evil will be destroyed in a single hour at that judgment (read Revelation 18).
The false system of worship, much of which we see in rapid development at this present hour, will suffer total decimation. Just as the church is the pure bride of Jesus Christ, this will be the filthy mistress of Antichrist. This system is termed “Mystery Babylon.” It is likened to a prostitute who has served the kingmakers of the world, the rich, and those who have ruled wickedly (read this judgment in Revelation 17).
God says He will bring all armies of earth to Armageddon, man’s final military conflict of history before Christ’s return.
John the apostle and prophet was given the Word on what is coming:
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great (Revelation 16:16-21).
Blood will flow as high as the horse bridle, the prophecy says, and that will be for two hundred miles or so! The vultures and other scavengers will dine on the flesh of kings and captains, the Word of God says. All at Armageddon are doomed.
The Great Escape
Though we are looking at prophecies of doom, doom is not God’s desire for you, or for anyone else. There is one hope for lost mankind and one hope of escape of the horrors to come during the time the Lord must judge sin.
God is love. He wants all to come to repentance and reconciliation with himself. He has literally moved heaven and hell to bring all to redemption so they won’t have to fade His judgment on sin. He must judge sin because it is the vile thing that separates man from His Creator.
The Lord of heaven sent His son Jesus, the Christ, to take away the sin of the world. All who believe in Him, as we looked at earlier, will be saved, redeemed, and reconciled to God the Father. (Read again Romans 10:9.)
The person who accepts Christ for salvation will, if alive when God’s way of escape intervenes into the affairs of mankind, move instantaneously from this fallen sphere and into the presence of Christ. This is the Rapture of the church—all born again—those who have accepted Christ for salvation. (Read 1 Corinthians 15-55 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.)
Jesus talked about this moment, I’m convinced, when He said: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:1-3).
The Rapture will be a stupendous moment when all who are believers will vanish. This moment will come without any sign or signal. It will throw the world into instant chaos and panic. Rearrangements of the sort we’ve looked at above will begin to take place as the world’s leaders try to find answers to what has happened and attempt to figure out how to quell the fears of the panicked masses.
Those who have disappeared will be in heaven in the places Jesus has prepared for them while planet earth experiences the worst time in history.
All seems in place for that time of Tribulation. There is nothing that must be fulfilled before the Rapture of Christians will take place. Rapture is imminent!
Act 3–The Millennium and Final Judgments
All who live through the seven years of Tribulation will face Christ just outside Jerusalem for judgment. The lost will be placed in what is described as “goat nations.” The saved—all who have accepted Christ during the Tribulation—will be placed in the “sheep nations.”
The goat nations will be cast into everlasting darkness; the sheep nations will go into Christ’s millennial kingdom and will, as flesh and blood people, enjoy His reign upon a refurbished, pristine planet earth for a thousand years.
The saints in heaven who went in the Rapture will return with Jesus as He puts an end to rebellion at Armageddon (see Revelation 19:11), then sets up the sheep/goat judgment before beginning the Millennium.
The precursor events in heaven to the saints’ return with Christ will be as follows:
While God’s seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven vials of wrath are taking place, the church enjoys a royal wedding banquet—the wedding supper of the Lamb, as God’s prophetic Word calls it. Christians will have been given their wedding garments based upon rewards for how they lived for Christ while on earth. This will take place at the bema, or judgment seat of Christ.
All who stand for this judgment are saved. They will spend eternity with Christ in heaven, living an ever-upward movement into exultant, creative, indescribably magnificent everlasting life.
Those who are lost—tragically, sadly—because of their rejection of God’s way of redemption and reconciliation, will face quite another judgment. The Great White Throne Judgment—the final judgment as given in God’s Word—will be only for the lost, those who will spend eternity apart from God and heaven. Theirs will be an ever-spiraling descent into indescribably horrendous terrors. They will be constantly dying, but never reaching the point of death. This is the prophecy of ultimate doom.
This doesn’t have to be the fate of anyone. The verse many of us learned, or at least heard, as children tells of God’s unfathomable love for each and every person ever born. It is the one and only way of escaping the doom that lies ahead for all who reject God’s Son: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
