The first chapter of Job reveals many significant points about the abilities of Satan. First, in verse 6, Satan appears before God presumably at will. In verse 10, he asks about God’s providence and protection of Job, asking, “Hast thou not made an hedge about him?” God’s reply to this question is in verse 12, “Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.”

This exchange shows that Satan can appear before God when he chooses, but that he cannot harm what God has put a hedge of protection over. However, if that protection is removed or compromised, then Satan, and presumably other evil spirits, can wreak havoc upon the subject.

Also significant are the means Satan uses to destroy that which is dear to Job. In verses 15 and 17, Satan uses people to cause harm. Verse 16 says, “the fire of God is fallen from heaven,” and in verse 19, the damage is done by a “great wind.” If you continue with the story, you will see that Satan cannot harm beyond what God gives permission.

In Genesis 19:12–13, angels have been dispatched to Lot and his family to send a message and save them from the coming destruction:

Hast thou here any besides? Son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

After they take Lot out of the city, verses 24–25 explain what happens next:

Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

There are a couple of significant points here. One is that while the angels brought the message, it was actually God Himself who passed judgment and caused the fire to rain down on the cities. The other is the fact that not only were the inhabitants killed and the cities burned, but that the vegetation was destroyed as well, as it says in Genesis 19:28 (a significance to be addressed later). Verse 28 describes what Abraham saw after the event:

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

These two stories illustrate how angels and fallen angels may have similar abilities, but they do not access or use them in the same ways. Angels give messages and carry out God’s work, but they operate within His power and authority, and He is the one who passes judgment. For example, the angel that visited Peter in jail moved objects and created light, but he used it within the parameter of God’s will. One hears every day of people seeing objects move when playing with Ouija boards or other occult paraphernalia. These invitations give evil spirits power, or permission, to operate within a person’s realm.

In Job 1:9–12 and verses 18–19, we see that when Satan has permission, he is able to affect weather:

Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

We also see in John 13:2 and verse 27 that Satan has the ability to influence people:

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;

And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

Fallen angels can certainly do many similar things to God’s Angels, but they cannot cross the boundaries that God sets into place. God’s ultimate power is what defines how far the power on either side is allowed to go.

As an example, we know that God is eternal and lives outside of time, but He can control it at will. In Revelation 21:6 and Isaiah 48:12–13, we see the “everlastingness” of God:

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called. I am He; I am the first and I am the last. My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens. When I summon them, they all stand up together.

This statement tells us that God is infinite, the beginning of time and the end of time all at once. However, Satan is a created being and exists within the constraints of time that Creator God has put in place as indicated in Revelation 12:12:

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

It does seem that Satan can manipulate time on earth, or at least time’s appearance, as indicated in Luke 4:5:

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

This passage illustrates that while it was only during a “moment of time,” Satan was able to cover a lot of territory in just that one “moment.” To an ordinary person, that “moment” could have seemed like a much longer period of time, but the Bible clearly states that it was in a “moment.” Jesus, of course, knew the truth. This is only one of many limitations on Satan’s abilities, but also shows that he is shrewd in how he deploys them.

Access Denied

It is important to understand that even though fallen angels and Satan may still have the basic abilities with which they were created, God is the ultimate authority behind all creation. He is the One who grants access to supernatural capabilities, knowledge, and secrets, and likewise can also deny access and place limitations to beings cut off from His “power source.” That power source is available for believers, as Paul points out in Acts 17:27–28:

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.

Although fallen angels are also His creation, in their rebellion, they have cut off their connection with this power source. That is why they need to be more creative in order to continue their work. And this is where technology comes in.

Since Satan can still appear before God, the question arises: Where else can he travel within God’s creation? He is cunning enough to manipulate the skills and knowledge he has to try to accomplish many of the things that God can do. Enoch 34:13 describes a portal that an angel showed Enoch:

And from thence I went towards the north to the ends earth, and there I saw a great and glorious device at the ends of the whole earth. And here I saw three portals of heaven open in the heaven: through each of them proceed north winds: when they blow there is cold, hail, frost, snow, dew, and rain. And out of one portal they blow for good: but when they blow through the other two portals, it is with violence and affliction on the earth, and they blow with violence.

If this apocryphal account is true and an angel showed this to Enoch, then surely the rest of the angels, including the fallen, would have known of this and other such places. So the question is this: Did they still have access to these portals? If so, what could they have accomplished by tampering with them?

We learn from Enoch 16:3–4 that angels and fallen angels have more knowledge than humans. They are much older and have access to more information. However, this passage indicates that when the fallen angels left heaven, they had not even begun to scratch the surface of its mysteries and secrets. It also states that at some point they shared those secrets with humans.

And now as to the Watchers who have sent thee to intercede for them, who had been aforetime in heaven, (say to them): “You have been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth.” Say to them therefore: “You have no peace.”

“Gating” Between Worlds

This author has made the case that the Nephilim, fallen angels, use technology to move between dimensions and even jump off-world. However, when we see angels such as Gabriel and Michael operating on behalf of God, they are able to break the laws of physics at will. This is not the case for the fallen, which is why they make use of technology to achieve their goals. Next we will deal with ancient technology that has been put in place to help the fallen travel throughout the universe. Our first interstellar-depot stop?

The Great Pyramid of Giza.

Built by the Egyptians?

Because the pyramids rest in Giza, the Egyptians have been recognized as their constructors. To their credit, the Egyptians did build the crumbling copies of the structures that lay in the shadow of the Great Pyramid. This is evidenced by the numerous hieroglyphs and mummies found in those edifices. As we will see however, they could not have built the Great Pyramid simply because of the unparalleled, superhuman math skills it would have taken to do so. Yet, theirs was a rich culture that not only spanned thousands of years, but likely also had a larger reach than that just Giza and the Nile Valley.

Ophir

Ophir, the “second land of Egypt,” was mined and farmed for its many unending resources. King Solomon received deliveries of gold and other precious elements from Ophir every three years. Although no one knows its exact location, many have theories as to its whereabouts. One is that it could have been somewhere in the American Southwest—a place where the ancient Egyptians themselves may have planted clues right before our very eyes.

The Grand Canyon is filled with man-made monuments, most of which not only have Egyptian names, such as Horus Temple, Osiris Temple, Tower of Ra, Isis Temple, and Cheops Pyramid, but also are aligned with the stars the same way that Egyptians built their own constructs. In addition, there are many hieroglyphics within the Grand Canyon said to be Egyptian both in origin and in content. These may be the remnants of an Egyptian presence that began approximately 1700 B.C. in an operation to extract copper, silver, and gold from the Grand Canyon. Many people have claimed to have found Egyptian artifacts and even elaborate cave and tunnel systems on the American continent, and particularly in the region of the Grand Canyon. With all the mining potential that the area would have had before being depleted, the possibilities of wealth are inestimable.

The Kaibab Plateau is about eight thousand feet above the Colorado River’s course in the Grand Canyon. Some have estimated that enough food could grow on this plateau to feed five hundred thousand people. There is speculation that this area was used for growing food to feed residential Egyptians, and that the excess was shipped back to Egypt in preparation for the anticipated famine in the days of Joseph. There may be something to this, considering the plateau’s close proximity to the ancient monuments bearing Egyptian names.

Could it be that trade routes were already established between the ancient Middle East and what is now America nearly a thousand years before Solomon’s reign? Legend has gone so far as to say that Joseph built ships to carry many people out in search of grain and wealth to sustain the world through the impending dearth, and that his boat returned loaded with gold and grain. If so, maybe Solomon’s deliveries happened more often than once in every three years. This is a much more plausible scenario than mere chance in explaining how Native Americans have Egyptian names for their monuments and fragments of the Egyptian language in their native tongues, and even share common DNA. Claims of Egyptian artifacts have been made in other places of the world, such as Australia and Canada. Perhaps Joseph’s food sources were farther out than previously thought.

A Notable Artifact

In 1918, when a thirty-three-foot sculpture of Cleopatra and Mark Antony’s twin children was discovered, the world’s interest in the mysteries surrounding their deaths was rekindled. The story is that in 30 B.C., in order to avoid Octavian domination, Cleopatra and Mark Antony committed suicide together. At that time, their three children, twins Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene, along with their younger brother, Ptolemy Philadelphus, were sent to Rome to be cared for by a relative. Within a decade, the two boys, Alexander Helios and Ptolemy Philadelphus, had vanished.

The features of the statue found in 1918 confirm that it is of Cleopatra’s twins. The hairstyles were connected specifically to the Ptolemaic Dynasty, and particularly Cleopatra’s. The style of the art dates the statue to 50–30 B.C. Moreover, the unique names of the children are incorporated in features of the statue. Both were named for celestial deities: Alexander Helio for the sun, and Cleopatra Selene for the moon.

Interestingly, it remains unknown exactly where Cleopatra or Mark Antony are entombed. Paintings and sculptures alike portray her dying of an asp bite, but no one really can say for sure. Could these two have staged their suicides, collected their heirs, and fled to the “second land of Egypt”? It is said that when Alexander Helios vanished, he took with him a great deal of treasure and fifty thousand of Cleopatra’s most trusted consorts. It would seem that if Joseph had indeed been using the Grand Canyon area for resources, then an established route would be known and accessible, especially for someone of means.

Kincaid’s Cave

The tunnel said to have been uncovered by Professor S. A. Jordan and G. E. Kinkaid was described to have been filled with Egyptian artifacts. Certainly, some immense claims were made, including that the artifacts pointed to such notable Egyptian figures as Seteprene, Khyan (a descendant of Joseph), Akhenaten, Anubis, Nefertiti, and even Solomon. But taking a closer look at these claims, one will find that the detail in the alleged artifacts is intriguing. For example, a shrine said to be inside the cave held the Hebrew Semitic sun, adjoined to the sign of Khyan and holding a staff of the Lord in one hand. Since Khyan is descended from Joseph, and it is written that Joseph ruled by the Ten Commandments, this could mean that a descendant of Joseph was honored here. Another artifact found in the tunnel system emulated Amaunet. Kinkaid claimed to have found burial chambers containing what he stated were Egyptian mummies. One room of interest held the bodies of many males entombed with their weapons, suggesting a burial place for an army. This resonates with Hopi lore, which references an ancient people who lived in the Underworld of the Grand Canyon until a dispute broke out, causing one faction to retreat. This strikes a nerve, because Kinkaid was said to be gold hunting when he came upon this discovery (an act made illegal just one year prior when Theodore Roosevelt made the Grand Canyon a national monument), he may have been silenced by intimidation or fear of repercussions. The triumphant newspaper announcement boasting of this discovery was declared a hoax and swept under the rug, and further evidence or testimony of any kind simply disappeared.

Powell’s Cave

During the 1860s, an explorer named John Wesley Powell traveled throughout the area around the Green and Colorado rivers and spent a considerable amount of time in the Grand Canyon. At one time, he, along with companion Jacob Vernon Hamblin, was said to have found a system of man-made, hollowed-out caves filled with Egyptian relics. Inside was a shrine to Seteprene as well as a small tablet filled with hieroglyphic writings, one of which showed the second land of Egypt named by Zaphnath (Joseph), and one carving that showed the Hebrew symbol for the Ark of the Covenant. The cave was said to display many hieroglyphics identical to those that appear in Egypt, representing multiple Pharaohs. Powell allegedly reported his findings to the Smithsonian and the U.S. Department of Interior. At that point, no more was heard of the matter. Powell was a documented ethnologist for the Smithsonian and his expeditions, up until this discovery, were recorded as historically ethical accounts.
